LEC : language schools around the world

LEC is a language student travel organisation based in Paris, France. Since 1972, the LEC team has organised more than 100,000 linguistic and cultural stays throughout England, Ireland, Scotland, Malta, the United States, Germany and Spain.

Last year alone, several thousands of students were able to discover and experience the different lifestyles of Europe and the United States with LEC. These stays provide the opportunity to meet people from all walks of life and to establish long lasting friendships.

LEC’s ultimate goal is to promote international understanding and friendship by introducing LEC students to families and different cultures around the world. By bringing them together, we give them of course the chance to enhance their linguistic skills but also to meet, get to know, appreciate each other and each other’s cultural differences. What better way to give both students and families this opportunity than through the umbrella of a family unit.

When the students and families share a day to day lifestyle together, this creates a hands on learning environment to discover another language, another way of life and different ideas. In many cases, it sparks and kindles lifelong lasting friendships between the participants involved. This is a very important first step in promoting international understanding and world peace. It enlightens individuals in a way that contributes to a wider vision of the world and therefore, to better relationships between people and cultures.
